New Date: 20th of March
Tasting
Grassroots
DE ONKRUIDENIER

We cordially invite you to join us for the second activity by Grassroots on March 20th; the Grassroots Tasting for people as well as birds living in Spangen. The tasting is scheduled to start at 2 PM. Do you feel like bringing along a partner, neighbour or anyone else who is interested? We’re eager to meet new people!

On Thursday December 2nd, artist collective De Onkruidenier organised the very first activity for the newly launched Grassroots project. On this walking expedition through Spangen, we traded stories about the different grass strains you’ll find in between street tiles or on the roadside, with names such as little lovegrass, sea clubrush or hairy crabgrass. Meanwhile, we learned how to observe Spangen from a bird’s eye perspective.

During the walk, participants shared their knowledge and experiences of the area, exchanging on topics such as the migration of people, plants and birds, the current property developments, and water management within the neighbourhood. All participants received invitations for their active contributions to Spangen and their collective knowledge of the networks that are rooted here. This introduction is a first step into exploring what an active connection between A Tale of A Tub and Spangen might look like for the future.

Is your curiosity piqued? Feel free to come to the Grassroots Tasting on January 16th. The Grassroots team will be there to welcome you and tell all about this special project, and what it could mean for you. Would you so kindly let us know by January 10th whether you can make it, and who you plan on bringing with you? Preferably by sending a message to Lenn, who is also available for any questions.
You can reach her via: lenn@onkruidenier.nl

We hope to see you (again) in the new year!
