A Tale Of A Tub

Event Onsite 9 September 2018 from 16:00 to 19:00

Opening We know what it is for, we who have used it with artist talk

We will kick-off the new art-season with the exhibition We know what it is for, we who have used it by the Palestinian artists Basel Abbas and Ruanne Abou-Rahme.

Join us for this festive opening! The exhibition will open with drinks and at 5 pm the artists will give a talk, hosted by curator Nathanja van Dijk and Karima Boudou, guest-curator public program.

For their project Abbas and Abou-Rahme returned to destroyed Palestinian villages. Following the faint traces of the past, the artists developed a reversed museology as a strategy to breath new live into these places. In an immersive installation, including video, sound-pieces, sculpture and a living archive, the artists present a counter-mythology, as an alternative to the dominant, often colonial narratives with which we describe our present.
