We’re expanding!
We’re really excited to share that in March we took a big step as an organisation and signed the lease on the three floors above our current spaces, which was, as some of you might remember, the home of Wilfried Lentz gallery when A Tale of A Tub first opened back in 2014, after which it was the offices of an architecture studio for the past years. With this step, we now occupy the entire former bathhouse and washhouse at the centre of the Justus van Effencomplex—spanning six floors with the basement space—and are able to inhabit our programming in some much-needed and healthier ways, like having dedicated spaces for the education program, the residency program, neighbour activities and, significantly for us, finally, a proper office space too. Sometimes, exhibitions will also extend into the new spaces, and events will take place up there as well. We’re so looking forward to settling into our expanded home with you—it feels big but we also feel (nervously) ready. Thank you to our structural funders the Mondriaan Fonds and Gemeente Rotterdam for making this possible, and to Sabo Day, Augustinas Milkus and Micha Prinsen who helped us literally seal the deal with this new signage to make it official!
