Open Monument Day 2025
For Open Monument Day 2025 we have handed the keys over to the residents of the Justus van Effencomplex. For a week beginning September 10, the members of our immediate community have organised as series of activities by and for each other. With events ranging from a silent disco, a game night and a three-course meal to ceramic workshops, speed dating (to get to know your neighbours) and an exhibition, the Tub will be a flurry of activity until September 17.
As part of the celebrations, a number of activities will be open to the public, including an outdoor film screening and a pet portrait session, where visitors can get a photo taken with their furry friend while also participating in a workshop aimed at teaching the children of the neighbourhood how to approach all their doggy neighbours safely. Below is a list of public events happening throughout the week:

Thursday, September 11–Tuesday, September 16
Exhibition by residents at A Tale of A Tub
Saturday, September 13, all day
Architectural tours of the complex by neighbours plus the launch of a special edition bulletin publication on the history of the building
Saturday, September 13, 9–11pm
