Pension Planning Practicalities: An Introduction to financial planning for freelance and other arts workers with PETER VAN DEN BUNDER, CHRIS RIJTEN and JAY TAN

Join us on March 13 for an introduction to two financial planning possibilities for freelancers: pension funds and broodfonds. Connected to Tan’s recent exhibition Pension Planning, the aim is to equip arts workers with necessary information for self-organising towards different forms of financial security. While the exhibition has come to an end, the questions it raised and the living and working conditions of many of us in the field continue on.

To begin to address this, Peter van en Bunder from the arts union Kunstenbond will give a presentation on pension funds for freelancers and the possibilities available in the Netherlands. Following this, Chris Rijten will provide an introduction to the broodfonds model—a Dutch collective welfare model that effectively allows independent entrepreneurs to provide each other with temporary sick leave from work. Following the two presentations, Jay Tan will moderate a Q&A session.
